Daniel Dancer Lyrics
(all songs copyright Daniel Dancer, 2007)

Wild is the Way

Wild is the way
Wild is the way
Wild is the way

Stare at a fire in a circle of stones
Feel Earth’s desire moving in your bones

Let your body move with the rythm of the tides
Then you’ll know the passion of the ocean inside

Wild is the way
Wild is the way
Wild is the way
It’s the way

In the howl of the wolf and the song of the whale
There’s an ancient knowing and a beautiful tale

Dip your hand in the current of a river flowing strong
And know there’s a place where your spirit belongs

Wild is the way
Wild is the way
Wild is the way
It’s the way
It’s Gaia’s way
It’s the way I want you today
It’s the way the Earth must stay

(break)

Listen to the song of the wind in the trees
And know that there’s something that longs to be free

The workings of the sun, the moon and the stars
Reflects Gaia’s pattern and describes who we are

So find your special place in nature that is wild
Vow to protect her like she was your child

The Beauty of th world runs wild in our veins
The soul of us all is where wildness remains

(Repeat Chorus)

It’s the way, the mystery way
It’s the way, the spirits say
Iit’s the way, it’s Gaia’s way

Bison Dreams

Old woman wind, blows lonely on the plains
Crying for the buffalo, singing in the rain
It wasn’t so long ago, the herds roamed wild and strong
They fed the Native people who honored them in song

Cheyenne Lakota Crow
Pawnee Arapahoe

The year is 1820 and the bison are on the move
So grab your fasted pony, theres no time to lose

Fly Bison Fly
Run with the clouds in the sky
Straight to the day
When we’re wild and free again

Shake your shaggy head, lift your black nose to the sky
Hear the piercing red tail’s call sing truth in to the lie
Forget the cows and fences, there time will soon pass on
Hold on to your bison dreams till your wild where you belong

Blackfeet Commanche Cree
Flathead Shoshone

(Break)

Down along the rocky shoals like the fossils of our kin
Lament for the beauty way, we’re dreams tossed in the wind

Fly Bison Fly
Run with the clouds in the sky
Straight to the day
When we’re wild and free again

Wings to Fly

Trouble comes and  goes
It's the way of life I  know
and when it wants to stay
I can make it go away
I learned it  from a bird
a little trick without any words at all
you just have to believe

When ever I’m confused
or got a touch of the blues
It helps to go up high
to see the reasons why
things are the way they are
you don’t have to go very far at all
to see what's goin' on

(Chorus)

I Just close my eyes
and go up to where the eagles glide,
where you can’t hide a lie
no matter how you try

I go up into the sky
where I can see with my redtail eyes
Yes I’ve got the wings to fly
so high, high, high

(break)

When I’m up there like a bird
The voice of Earth can be heard
It rises up like a song
singing “we must all get along”
rivers, mountains, you and me
all connected like leaves on a tree
From sea to shining sea

Then I come back down
'cuz I live upon the ground
and if they ask me where I’ve been
I just say, “a little spin”
cuz I didn’t have a clue
I had to find myself a better view of it all
And I feel fine now

    (Repeat Chorus Twice)

Kalalau (for the Kalalau Valley in Kauai)

Kalalau, Kalalau
I hear you calling me now
You’re so beautiful
Kalalau, I have to bow

Your emerald palis reaching to the sky
Make my spirit soar so high
You’re so beautiful
Kalalau, I have to bow

Someday I shall return
Unitl then I will yearn

For your mango trees and lilikoi
You make my heart, open wide with joy
You’re so delicious
Kalalau, I have to bow

(Break)

Your ancient stones and tourquoise waves
Always take my breath away
You’re so magnificent
Kalalau, I have to bow

Someday I shall return
Until then I will yearn

For your crystal seas and star-drenched nights
For you, I’ll always fight
Kalalau, Kalalau
To you I bow

Goddess of Synchronicty

Rain falls outside my door
Waves crash upon my shore
I’m feeling into time
Between the six and the nine
For the alluring portal thru the night
Soul compass to what’s right

Takaya, Goddess of Synchronicity
When you’re near me
My heart and soul fly so free
Please come find me

(BREAK)

Sunbeams pierce the shadows of my concern
Wild things dance and I learn
Wind quakes through the palms
Pulling me into your Calm
Close to the face that can’t be known
Smiling Mystery, beloved koan

Takaya, Goddess of Synchronicity
When you’re near me
My heart and soul fly so free
Please come find me
Please be with me

At the Gate

Toma la musica
Is what the old man said
As I stumbled down the calle
Lost inside my head
I followed the beauty
To where the music lives
I drank the wave of Mystery
It takes and it gives

In the dark of night the stars
Wrapped around me like a robe
Ancient journey lights
With stories to unfold
In the morning I see flowers
Stars fallen from the sky
Silently asking
who am I, Who am I

(Break)

Untraveled passages
Hidden from sight
Islands of belonging
Searching for the light
Magnetic pullings
Through curious fate
We are the time unwinding
At the gate, at the gate
At the gate, at the gate

Back To You

Three and one-half billion years
of life within each tear
that we shed becasue were lost and so far from  home

Great Spirit help us to
realign with the truth
and dissolve with love
past and future pain

Help us grow
so we can flow
back to you

Each day when I arise
I give thanks for being alive
in a world full of magic everywhere

Earth Buddah Mystery
You take such good care of me
may my life reflect the love you've shown

Help us grow
so we can flow
back to You

And I know that where ever I roam
Your voice will always guide me home
home to the light
that lives within each dream
in the heart of me and all that I see

(break)

Three and one-half billion years
of grace within the deer
that bounds across my flowered field

Earth angel of this day
Show me thy will and thy way
so that I might live my highest truth

Help us grow
so we can flow
back to you

Great Mystery show us how
to live in the NOW
and become the song the Earth wants us to sing

With open hearts and gratitude
and with beauty as our food
we can dream into being the Never Before Seen

Help us grow
so we can flow
back to you

And I know that where ever I roam
Your voice will always guide me home
Home to the light
that lives within each dream
in the heart of me and all that I see

Tears

Tears
Sometimes they come
When we truly grasp
What Man has done

Tears
Let them have their say
It’s your body’s gift
It’s Nature’s way

Tears
If you hold them in
Your soul will drift
To oblivion

So cry
Your human rain
Let it nourish you
Let it soothe your pain

Tears
Just let them fall
They have the strength
To melt the wall
That keeps
Us locked inside
A way of life
Where beauty dies
And dies, and dies, and dies

(break)

Tears
Dissolve our grief
And clear the way
For new belief

Tears
Let them flow
Into the river
That will take you home

Tears
We need yours and yours
To float the world
To a brighter shore

So Cry
For all your worth
Help seed the waters
Of our rebirth

(repeat chorus)

Tashawashunkata
(“flow like the water” – Lakota)

Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata

Flow like the water
Like a River moving free
Follow your heart
towards  your soul’s destiny

And when the rapids seem big and fierce
and you think that you might fall
The only way out is through,
you got to heed the call

If the current catches you
and flips you upside down
Dive down deep to find the peace
to turn yourself around

and should an eddy grab hold of  you
and threaten you with jail
gotta swim out fast and sure
just like a Humpback Whale

Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata

(break)

When the waters gets still and dark
and you think there is no end
You can’t push the river
Let the quiet be your friend

Flow like the water
In its endless freedom dance
Nature guides with a song
called No Resistance

Flow like the water
In its endless freedom dance
Nature guides with a song
called No Resistance

Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata
Tashawashunkata

Get Your Sky-Sight On

Well . . . tell me what do you do
When you’re lost in the woods
Or you’ve got a special problem in your neighborhood
And you can’t see the forest for all them trees . . .
You get your sky-sight on
It’s in you and me

It’s so easy to be wrong
When you’re stuck on the ground
The Earth seems flat but she’s really round
There’s a very good way to understand . . .
Get your sky-sight on
Every woman and man

Get your sky-sight on
Get your sky-sight on
Get your sky-sight on
And keep it on, Your whole life long

(break)

“200 years ago or so a famous philosopher named Mr. Immanuel Kant said something very important. It might even hold the key to human survival. Do you know what he said? (What did he say?) He said, “that for peace to reign on Earth humans must evolve into new beings who have learned to see the whoooooooole first.” That’s right . . . the Whole First. Do you know what this means?  (Tell us) Well, I call it our Sky Sight and it means seeing not only from the sky where we can see our impacts on nature and how everything fits together but also through the eyes of evvvvvvvvvvry thing. . . through the eyes of Africans and Indians, moslums and Christians, elephants and butterflies, oak trees and manatees, rivers, lakes and polar bears, swordfish and mountain lions, lady bugs and rattlesnakes, your neighbor over there and over there and throooooooough the eyes of future generations . . . .  you get the idea.  Now . . . just imagine if we could learn to see this way . . why, we’d be able to see and feel the impact of our decisions before we put them into action. We might even be able to solve Warble Gloaming . . . I mean . . . well . . . you know what I mean . . . . We’ve got a very serious situation here and if we don’t wake up right now and pay attention, change and collaborate . . . . Well, it just might be byyyyye byyyyye human race.  It’s a scary time all right yet its an exciting time too because you know what  . . .

. . .  we can manifest our sky sight,  this new way of seeing the world, we truly can. All we have to do is just . . . belieeeeeeeve we can. And if we can change in this way the world will become a whooooooooole different place. The human brain is an amazing instrument. It evolves in mysterious and miraculous ways and that’s what we need it to do right now. I believe our sky-sight lies inside each of us, just waaaaaaaiiiting, just waiting to be activated . . . and that’s precisely why I wrote this song.”

With the eyes of a whale
And the heart of a tree
I can see it’s all connected and it flows through me
I’m a cloud, I’m an eagle, I’m a river, I’m a song. . .
With my sky-sight on
I know I belong

Through the eyes of the angels
The ocean and the birds
We can feel what it’s like and make ourselves heard
When we see our Earth treated carelessly . . .
we’ll say . . .DUDE! . . . Get your sky-sight on
And let her be!

(Repeat Chorus)
